Maintenance Worker – Full-Time, Temporary Jobs in Lake George, NY at Paulist Fathers – St. Mary’s of the Lake
The Paulist Fathers are seeking a temporary full-time maintenance worker to perform handyman/carpenter tasks for their St. Mary’s of the Lake Summer retreat facility at Lake George. This position will run through October. The Paulist Fathers are a non-profit religious community dedicated to serving the Catholic Church.
Job Summary:
The maintenance worker will perform general maintenance, handyman and carpentry tasks throughout the St. Mary’s of the Lake facility.
The schedule is six days per week, Mondays through Saturdays, from approximately 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
- Basic painting.
- Basic wood molding
- Installing lock sets on doors
- Plunging sinks
- Building ramps
- Hanging plaques on trees on the paver path
- Keeping stone steps and boathouse walkway clear
- Keep boats clean
- Stock boats as necessary for trips
- Weed whacking at the island
- Performing other maintenance/handyman/carpentry duties as required
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to operate small hand tools, lawn mowers, saws, and drive a tractor
- Ability to perform tasks thoroughly and efficiently and in a safe manner.
- Must have own means of transportation and drivers license
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, climbing and standing for prolonged periods of time.
