Sturdy Corporation is seeking a skilled and dedicated Full Time Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both production equipment and facility systems. This role ensures that machinery and the overall facility operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime to support continuous operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:

To support and adhere to the Quality Policy, Environmental Policy, and Corporate Mission Statement. Demonstrate commitment to "Total Customer Satisfaction” while providing unsurpassed quality and services. Adhere to all environmental policies and regulations and strive to prevent pollution and maintain a clean and healthy environment. Support and participate in Sturdy’s continuous improvement programs.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment (conveyors, motors, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and complete timely repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to reduce downtime
  • Install, assemble, and test new machinery
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Maintain maintenance logs and documentation

Facility Maintenance:

  • Perform general facility repairs including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and basic electrical systems
  • Repair and maintain building structures such as floors, walls, doors, and ceilings
  • Conduct inspections of facility equipment and infrastructure to ensure proper operation
  • Assist with upkeep of grounds, including minor exterior maintenance
  • Coordinate or support outside contractors for major repairs or specialized work
  • Ensure facility systems comply with safety regulations and operational standards

General Duties:

  • Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns or facility issues
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment and facility performance

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or facility maintenance
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems; basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read technical manuals and building schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC certification, electrical license, or industrial maintenance certification
