Position Overview
A manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to support production operations, product design, and process improvement initiatives. This role involves hands-on manufacturing support, development and optimization of production methods, tooling and fixture design, and collaboration across engineering, production, and sales teams.
The position is suited for an engineer who enjoys working in a shop-floor manufacturing environment, solving technical challenges, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and optimize existing production processes, tooling, and manufacturing methods
- Develop and implement processes for new products and manufacturing techniques
- Design custom fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment
- Provide technical support for sales quotations and cost estimates
- Support shop-floor manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting and process optimization
- Analyze and drive cost reduction, efficiency, and productivity improvements
- Prepare and maintain CAD models, drawings, and related documentation
- Contribute to research and development initiatives as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machining and G-code programming
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt a plus)
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, stamping, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and manufacturing safety practices
Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
