Exciting opportunity! DLMC is hiring a materials processor to work in our materials department. This position will assist the material manager and is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of medical supplies for the entire facility. Knowledge of medical supplies is a plus. Excellent customer service experience required. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8AM-5:00PM with potential for some schedule flexibility. POSITION: Materials Processor

DEPARTMENT: Materials

RESPONSIBLE TO: Materials Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The materials processor is responsible for assisting the materials manager in completing the daily tasks of the Materials department by ensuring the safe and efficient handling of medical supplies for DLMC which includes but are not limited to the essential duties and responsibilities listed below.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Required Education and/or Experience:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent

· Efficient computer capabilities

· Knowledge of filing and responsible for answering and routing calls to appropriate areas

· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

· Ability to be flexible as the position requires

· Self-motivated and adaptable to fluctuating job duties

Preferred:

· Familiarity with medical supplies, office equipment and procedures

· Experience with an Electronic Inventory Management System Preferred

· Knowledge of GPOs preferred

· Knowledge of medical and medical supply terminology

· Customer service experience preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide exceptional service and care to all patients, customers and team members.

2. Daily restocking and inventory management for all DLMC facility departments

3. Purchasing of supplies, equipment and other needed times for the hospital and rural health clinic

4. Receiving and stickering supplies and logging them into the inventory management system

5. Reconcile purchase orders and delivery invoices

6. Work with Accounts Payable (AP) to ensure all orders are coded properly

7. Monthly outdate management

8. Develops, utilizes, and ensures accuracy of an Electronic Inventory Management System

9. Assists with annual inventory

10. Works with the Materials Manager to standardize all hospital supplies

11. Assist with the preparation of a variety of reports and documents

12. Communicates verbally and via email with Department Heads to ensure that PAR levels for stock are adjusted as needed and maintained

13. Communicates supply shortages with DLMC Department Heads

14. Covers the Materials Manager for vacations, holidays, and other times

15. Ensures that supplies are available for staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week

16. Attend meetings as requested by administration.

17. Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

18. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

19. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

20. Perform other related duties as assigned.
