What You Will Do:

  • Translate the Patient Story: Review and abstract clinical information from patient records, assigning accurate ICD, CPT, or HCPCS codes to ensure seamless document retrieval and claim processing.
  • Collaborate with Clinicians: Act as a subject matter expert by querying physicians when documentation is ambiguous, ensuring every record is clear, compliant, and reflective of the care provided.
  • Drive Excellence: Consistently meet high-standard productivity and quality benchmarks that reflect our commitment to accuracy and ethical coding standards.
  • Champion Compliance: Stay at the forefront of the industry by maintaining deep knowledge of coding guidelines (AHIMA), reimbursement requirements, and DRG/APC assignments.

What You Will Need:

Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences:

  • CPC or COC or RHIT certification
  • 3+ years professional physician coding experience
  • E/M procedure coding and surgical coding
