Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough diagnostics using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and electrical testing equipment to identify issues in heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components.
- Service and maintain a variety of machinery including semis, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and industrial equipment.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks like tire service, alignment adjustments, air brake inspections, and hydraulic system checks to prevent future breakdowns.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records and reports of all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy equipment operation and automotive repair.
- Knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, transmissions, and diesel engine repair.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance tools.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs or installations; physical strength is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience working with semis, industrial equipment, or similar large machinery is a plus.
