Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wound management and a strong background in various medical settings. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with complex wounds and treatment plans. You will be collaborating with nurse practitioners and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer wound care treatments, including dressing changes, wound vacs, ultrasound cool mist therapy, and infection control measures.
- Collaborate with nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems).
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
- Monitor vital signs and perform routine assessments to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in ongoing education and training related to wound care best practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Background in hospital medicine, Home health, or urgent care settings is highly desirable.
- Experience with infectious disease care, geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing
- Proficiency in Wound Care, and pathophysiology of vascular and cardiology
- Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation standards, and patient assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to wound healing processes.
