Job Summary
We are hiring a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Hartford, Connecticut for our Adult Medicine clinic. The role requires an APRN/NP with at least 8 years of experience.
Responsibilities
The APRN provides comprehensive primary health care including health promotion and disease prevention activities for patients, collaborates with department physicians, and refers patients to consultants as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school and completed an approved nurse practitioner program.
- Valid State of Connecticut licensure.
- DEA and state narcotic registration or eligibility to obtain.
- Extensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice coupled with a record of high‑quality clinical care.
- Ability to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population.
- Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical conditions and interpreting findings.
- Proven communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain timely, thorough and accurate written clinical documentation.
- Evidence‑based clinical decision‑making and compliance with quality measures.
- Comfortable using electronic health record and other computer systems.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
- Preferred: 1‑2 years’ experience in an ambulatory setting or urgent care.
- All candidates must pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
