Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our experienced quality driven team.In this role, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert surface preparation, precise painting techniques, and finishing touches that elevate the aesthetic and functional quality of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using hand tools, brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray painting), and power tools to achieve smooth, even coats
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and detailed surface preparation instructions to execute projects accurately
- Select appropriate colors based on color theory principles and client preferences; perform visual color comparisons to match existing finishes or specified palettes
- Conduct construction site surface assessments to determine the best methods for surface preparation and finishing in accordance with safety regulations
- Perform restoration work on existing surfaces such as stucco, masonry, drywall repairs, or renovation projects that require specialized techniques like plastering or fixture installation
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety regulations including the use of respiratory protection and proper handling of hazardous materials
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, drywall installers, and other tradespeople during remodeling or renovation projects to ensure seamless project execution
- Use schematics and technical drawings to guide precise application of paint on complex surfaces such as trim carpentry or decorative fixtures
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment including power tools, scaffolding, ladders, welding equipment when necessary
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction painting surface preparation and application techniques such as spray painting (including airless systems) and brush/roller application
- Strong knowledge of color theory for effective color matching and aesthetic consistency across projects
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and detailed instructions for accurate project execution
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment, and safety gear including respiratory protection
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes related to painting scope of work for project planning purposes
- Ability to perform surface repairs such as plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work or drywall finishing with precision
- Knowledge of safety regulations specific to construction sites including hazard recognition and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Experience with commercial painting projects as well as residential painting applications in renovation settings
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and calculating paint quantities needed for various projects
- Hands-on experience with fixture installation or trim carpentry that complements painting work during remodeling or restoration efforts
