PARKING ENFORCEMENT SPECIALIST

POSITION DETAILS

Position Title: Parking Enforcement Specialist

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary Grade: 5

Reports To: Police Captain Services or Administrative Sergeant

Cell Phone Stipend: ? Eligible ? Ineligible

Supervisory Functions

  • Full-Time Employees ? Seasonal Employees
  • Part-Time Employees ? Volunteers
  • Temporary Employees ? No Supervisory Functions

BASIC FUNCTION

Patrols specific areas within the City limits of Moscow and the

University of Idaho campus zones

to enforce parking regulations.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with

These Essential Functions.

Patrols assigned areas monitoring for compliance of parking regulations.

Issues and processes citations.

Answers questions from the general public.

Reports abandoned or stolen vehicles.

Keeps records as required.

Testifies in court.

Process and coordinate towing of abandoned vehicles

Required Education And Experience

Graduation from high school or GED.

Some experience in dealing with the public is desirable.

Required Licenses And Certifications

Valid Drivers License.

Successful completion of all pre-employment testing procedures which may

include, but

are not limited to, a background investigation and a polygraph

examination.

Knowledge Of:

Parking regulations.

Operating a computer data entry terminal.

Ability To:

Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and

members of the

public.

Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Walk long distances.

Work independently.

Skill In:

Microsoft Suite.

Spillman.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Outdoor work

Seasonal heat and cold, and temperature changes.

Regular exposure to fumes, dust, and odors.

Driving a vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.

Walking over rough or uneven surfaces.

Climbing stairs.

Bending at the waist, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

Turning/twisting.

Speaking and exchanging information.

Contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals.

Driving a vehicle during adverse weather conditions.

Fumes from vehicle or equipment operation.

Extreme weather conditions.

TRAVEL

Regular travel within the City and County; Occasional travel outside of

local area.
