Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our office team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for time-keeping applications and processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and maintaining records in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and upload employee time data daily
- Process weekly payroll, ensuring all hours, deductions, and benefits are correct
- Ensure compliance with the Prevailing Wage Law, including preparing certified payroll filings
- Manage union benefits and file monthly reports as required
- Set up new projects and post payroll to job cost records
- Address employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Provide general bookkeeping and office support as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
- Experience in payroll processing or similar accounting/administrative role preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Independent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadlines
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and labor laws is a plus.
