2. About the Opportunity:
The Peer Review Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and quality of the peer review process within their assigned journal portfolio. This position acts as a key liaison among authors, reviewers, editors, and staff to facilitate timely, ethical, and efficient editorial workflows. The role contributes to upholding publication standards and enhancing operational procedures to support the organization''s mission in scholarly publishing.
3. Responsibilities:
• Manage the manuscript submission process from author submission through peer review to production preparation.
• Ensure manuscripts meet submission guidelines and comply with organization policies.
• Communicate effectively with editors, authors, reviewers, and staff regarding the peer review process.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training for peer review systems.
• Prepare editorial statistics reports for internal and editorial use.
• Resolve issues related to peer review, including policy discrepancies and copyright permissions.
• Develop and lead process improvements and training sessions for the team.
• Collaborate with production and publishing staff to address journal-wide editorial challenges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
4. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, English, or related field, or 4-6 years of equivalent experience in scholarly publications.
• Minimum of 3 years'' experience in scholarly publications with knowledge of editorial and peer review processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience working in a high-profile, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Preferred experience with Editorial Manager, iThenticate, and DocuSign.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Salaries are based on factors including relevant experience, education level, and prior staff or governance experience within the organization.
