Southern Home Security, LLC is a growing authorized dealer for Safe Home Security, specializing in professional smart home security systems, monitored alarm solutions, and 24/7 professional monitoring. We are a security company first, built on operational excellence, customer trust, and disciplined growth. We are also strategically expanding our connectivity offerings (Viasat internet and smart home bundling) to deliver more complete solutions to our customers.

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of People and Operations to serve as a key leadership partner to the Founder & CEO. This role owns both the People function and Field Operations across our core security business and growing connectivity division. You will build scalable systems, lead talent initiatives, and drive operational excellence in the field — ensuring we scale responsibly while protecting the high standards our customers expect.

What You’ll Lead

People & Organizational Development

• Own end-to-end talent strategy: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention across sales, installation, and support teams.

• Design and implement professional, compliant onboarding and training programs (including security certifications and Viasat Discover requirements).

• Lead HR compliance, employee relations, documentation, and culture initiatives that support a high-performing, values-driven team.

• Partner with leadership on compensation design, career pathing, and workforce planning to attract and retain top talent.

Field Operations & Execution

• Oversee daily field operations for both smart home security installs and internet/connectivity work, including scheduling, dispatch, technician productivity, route optimization, and quality assurance.

• Manage warehouse operations, inventory control, equipment readiness, and field process improvement.

• Drive measurable improvements in install completion rates, same-day service capability, customer satisfaction, and chargeback reduction.

• Build and refine SOPs that create consistency and scalability across both lines of business.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Serve as the operational bridge between Sales, Installation, Customer Experience, and Finance.

• Deliver weekly operational and people metrics with clear insights and recommendations to the CEO.

• Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and support profitable growth.

• Champion compliance, safety, and customer experience standards in every aspect of field and people operations.

Who We’re Looking For

• 5–8+ years of progressive leadership experience in home services, security/alarm, field operations, or telecom, with direct people leadership responsibility.

• Proven track record of successfully owning both People/HR and Field Operations functions in a growing company.

• Strong experience building compliant hiring and onboarding processes and scaling teams while maintaining quality and culture.

• Demonstrated ability to improve field metrics (productivity, completion rates, customer experience) through process, coaching, and systems.

• High emotional intelligence, clear communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a founder-led, fast-paced environment.

• Tech-savvy and process-oriented — you leverage systems and data to drive better decisions and outcomes.

• Comfortable with occasional travel for field visits, team development, and in-person leadership meetings.

Compensation & Opportunity

• Base Salary: $70,000

• On-Target Earnings (OTE): $92,000 (base + performance bonuses)

• Performance bonuses tied to key people metrics (retention, time-to-productivity, hiring quality) and operational KPIs (install completion rates, chargeback reduction, field efficiency, customer satisfaction).

• Direct partnership with the Founder & CEO with real influence on company direction and growth strategy.
