Job Title: Physical Therapist (Pediatric School-Based)
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: 30+ hours per week to start
Pay: $60.00–$65.00 per hour
Position Overview
New Heights Academy is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Alpharetta, GA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, offering the potential for long-term employment based on performance and organizational needs.
This position primarily supports approximately 100 students within our private school while collaborating closely with educators, families, and therapy professionals to help students achieve their educational and developmental goals. The Physical Therapist will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized therapy services that support student participation in the educational environment and compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Both new graduates and experienced pediatric therapists are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate students to determine physical therapy needs and eligibility for services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with each student’s IEP.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students with a variety of developmental, neurological, orthopedic, and physical disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other educational staff.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations regarding student services and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and required compliance records.
- Utilize evidence-based treatment techniques and pediatric standardized assessment tools.
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support student mobility, positioning, and participation throughout the school day.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with state, federal, and school guidelines.
Qualifications
Required
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Current Georgia Physical Therapist license in good standing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred
- Pediatric therapy experience.
- School-based experience.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Experience using pediatric standardized assessment tools.
