Production Operator-1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift Jobs in Orchard Park, NY at The Mentholatum Company
BASIC PURPOSE
Responsible for contributing and acting as a team member for the operation of automated and manual packaging equipment while following cGMP and SOP’s requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform manual packaging functions, such as hand packing products into shipping cases, loading finished goods on pallets or conveyors, and assembling component parts into finished goods as per packaging instructions.
- Act as a team member on production lines by following the direction of the Line Operator. Maintain Quality standards while working on production lines. Keep up with machine speeds to achieve productivity targets. Inspect work-in-progress to ensure quality standards are met. Promote and follow Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area, following Lean 5S procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to safely and efficiently work as a team member on filling and packaging equipment.
- Excellent observation skills to recognize quality defects.
- Ability to work as part of a team, maintain appropriate interpersonal skills and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to meet physical capabilities assessment which includes sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, crouching etc.
- Ability to move shipping cases and wip containers with weights up to 30 lbs from conveyors to pallets.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
