Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting Co is a vertically integrated heavy/highway contractor with its main office located in Elmira, NY. Dalrymple mines and produces high-quality sand and crushed stone, and operates hot mix asphalt plants in the Southern Tier of NY. Located at the Southern end of the Finger Lakes region of NY. Dalrymple Construction Division completes highway projects for NYSDOT and PADOT, and in addition, has completed numerous airport and other civil projects.

Position Overview
As Project Cost Accounting and Controls Specialist, you will serve as a trusted financial resource for construction projects and the primary liaison between operations and corporate finance. This highly visible and fast-paced position is charged with financial reporting, compliance, and processing responsibilities over multiple projects in NY northern PA.
Responsibilities
This position will report directly to the Vice President for Construction, NY. This individual will be in the middle of the action, closely collaborating with our project team and trade partners.
Project Accounting & Administration
- Compiling owner requisition/pay estimates
- Subcontractor requisition and accounts payable processing
Project Finance
- Assist with job budget setups
- Complete monthly project financial forecast / job cost projections
- Prepare, update, and maintain monthly job cost reports
- Key performance indicator monitoring
- Process innovation and improvement
- Project cash-flow monitoring and forecasting
- Have thorough knowledge of the company’s contracts and understanding of all parties involved
- Prepare and submit monthly job status reports that outline project priorities and issues
Qualifications
- Preferred degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or other business-related fields, or similar relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Strong work ethic – Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Base Compensation: $75,000/yr – $105,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
