Are you an expert in mass grading, utilities, and site development? We are looking for a seasoned Senior Project Estimator to lead our bidding efforts for major dirt work and utility projects. This is a high-impact role based in our Aventura office, requiring a deep understanding of site balancing and the complexities of underground utility installation across multiple states.
The Role
You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the estimating process—from initial takeoff to final bid submission. You will focus on Multifamily, Commercial, and Public Work projects, ensuring that our bids are competitive, accurate, and strategically sound.
Key Responsibilities
- Mass Grading & Balancing: Perform comprehensive earthwork analysis, including cut/fill calculations and mass grading strategies.
- Utility Estimation: Estimate costs for water, sewer, and storm drainage systems, including materials, installation labor, and production rates.
- Regional Expertise: Apply knowledge of local site conditions, regulations, and market pricing for projects in Florida, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and nationwide.
- Bid Management: Lead the preparation of complex bids for a variety of project types (Private Commercial, Multifamily, and Public Works).
- Vendor Relations: Manage subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure complete and accurate project coverage.
What You Bring
- Experience: 7+ years of dedicated estimating experience specifically in dirt work, earthmoving, and wet utilities.
- Market Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the construction landscapes in FL, TX, NC, and SC.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard software is required, specifically:
- Bluebeam Revu (Takeoffs and document management)
- Agtek or Carlson (Earthwork/Grade modeling)
- HeavyBid (HCSS) or similar estimation platforms
- Deep Understanding: You don’t just "plug in numbers"; you understand the installation process, material costs, and field production for civil work.
- Presence: Ability to work in our Aventura, FL office full-time (Monday–Friday).
