Overview
Publicist Jobs in Remote at Charles Communication Group
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Publicist with 3–5 years of hands-on experience who can actively own and drive publicity efforts for clients.
This is not an entry-level or purely support role. We are looking for someone who understands how to identify timely opportunities, develop strong story angles, pitch effectively, and secure meaningful visibility across television, digital media, print, podcasts, conferences, panels, speaking engagements, and high-profile events.
The ideal candidate has current relationships with journalists, producers, editors, conference organizers, event producers, and other relevant media and industry contacts. You should be proactive, well-informed about current and upcoming opportunities, and comfortable taking an idea or client narrative from strategy through outreach, placement, and follow-up.
The right person can walk into a client account, understand what makes the client newsworthy, identify where they should be seen and heard, and create a consistent plan to increase their visibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MEDIA RELATIONS & PUBLICITY
Pitch and secure earned media coverage across local, regional, and national television, digital, print, podcast, radio, and other relevant platforms.
Develop compelling story angles, timely hooks, expert commentary opportunities, and strategic pitches based on each client’s expertise, brand, industry, and current news cycle.
Build, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with journalists, television producers, editors, podcast hosts, assignment desks, and other media professionals.
Proactively identify media opportunities rather than relying solely on incoming requests.
Coordinate interviews, media briefings, talking points, scheduling, and other media logistics for clients and leadership.
Prepare clients for interviews and appearances, including messaging, key talking points, anticipated questions, and positioning.
Track placements, media responses, active pitches, and follow-up opportunities.
Provide concise weekly reporting on pitches sent, responses, secured placements, upcoming opportunities, and recommended next steps.
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, CONFERENCES & INDUSTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Research and identify relevant conferences, panels, summits, fireside chats, workshops, podcasts, industry events, and speaking opportunities.
Stay informed about upcoming conferences, application deadlines, speaker submissions, call-for-speaker opportunities, and relevant industry calendars.
Pitch and secure speaking engagements, panel opportunities, interviews, guest expert appearances, and other visibility opportunities.
Develop speaker positioning, bios, session topics, talking points, abstracts, and submission materials.
Build and maintain relationships with conference organizers, event producers, booking teams, associations, and industry leaders.
Identify opportunities that align with each client’s expertise, goals, audience, and overall brand strategy.
RED CARPET & HIGH-VISIBILITY EVENTS
Identify red carpets, premieres, galas, festivals, industry mixers, award events, and other relevant high-visibility opportunities for clients.
Conduct outreach to event producers, publicists, organizers, and credentialing teams for invitations, media access, hosted opportunities, and strategic attendance.
Coordinate client attendance, timing, media moments, photographer opportunities, and post-event publicity follow-up.
Ensure clients are properly briefed, prepared, and professionally represented at all times.

Conference and speaking submission materials
Ensure all materials are accurate, polished, strategically positioned, media-ready, and aligned with client and firm branding.
Continuously update and refine materials as client narratives, campaigns, accomplishments, and opportunities evolve.
STRATEGIC PR SUPPORT
Assist in developing and executing strategic publicity plans for clients.
Identify visibility gaps and recommend opportunities that strengthen client positioning and credibility.
Monitor relevant news, cultural conversations, media trends, industry developments, and upcoming events that may create publicity opportunities.
Collaborate with internal team members, clients, event partners, and external stakeholders.
Represent Charles Communication Group with professionalism, discretion, responsiveness, and sound judgment.
