This is a travelling position with a committed schedule. The scope of work will be performing QA/QC for hyperscale data centers.
Role Summary
A field-based QA/QC role responsible for implementing and managing the full QA/QC program across a construction project from kick-off through as-built handover. The role oversees contractor and subcontractor compliance with engineering standards, coordinates all quality inspections, manages non-conformance reports, and serves as the primary quality interface between the site team and the client's representative.
Core Responsibilities
QA/QC Program Management — Implementing and monitoring the approved site QC plan from project kick-off through handover. Creating quality assurance procedures, elaborating inspection and test programs, and ensuring all site activities comply with applicable codes and standards.
Inspections & Compliance — Coordinating all quality inspections with subcontractors and vendors including receipt inspections. Verifying technical documents are current and that all quality-related activities meet applicable standards. Participating in internal and external site audits.
Documentation & Handover — Ensuring all QC documentation is compiled and completed for as-built handover through the QC turnover engineer. Managing and distributing relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors. Completing and coordinating approval of QC technical submittals to the client.
Non-conformance Management — Controlling all non-conformance reports, completing site quality control instructions, and driving remedial action responses.
Stakeholder Coordination — Coordinating with the client's representative on all quality matters. Chairing weekly QA/QC site meetings with subcontractor QC personnel. Coordinating with the site construction manager on all quality issues.
Team Development — Reviewing client specifications and delivering relevant training to site QC inspectors.
Key Requirements
- B.Sc. / B.A. in a relevant discipline | 7–10 years construction industry experience
- CQM (Construction Quality Management) certification
- MEP systems QA/QC experience — preference for data center, mission critical, or other large-scale critical environment construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Deltek
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and subcontractor interfaces
Work Conditions
- Site-based role with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical systems
- Extended hours and weekend work required depending on project schedule
