Harding Auto Group is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Reconditioning Manager to oversee vehicle preparation and inventory readiness for our luxury and premium vehicle operations.
This is a leadership position responsible for managing the entire reconditioning process—from vehicle acquisition through frontline-ready status. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands automotive repair and cosmetic reconditioning, and is passionate about maintaining high vehicle standards while controlling costs and improving inventory turn.

What You’ll Do
- Manage all incoming inventory through the reconditioning process.
- Coordinate mechanical, cosmetic, and appearance repairs.
- Work closely with service vendors, body shops, wheel repair, detail, and photography teams.
- Monitor vehicle status and ensure timely progression through each stage of reconditioning.
- Control recon expenses while maintaining dealership quality standards.
- Perform quality control inspections before vehicles are offered for sale.
- Prioritize inventory based on aging, demand, and management direction.
- Track and report vehicle status, recon costs, and days-to-frontline metrics.
- Communicate effectively with purchasing, sales management, and ownership.
- Hold vendors accountable for quality, pricing, and turnaround times.
Qualifications
- Automotive industry experience required.
- Prior experience in reconditioning, service management, inventory management, fixed operations, or dealership operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles and vendors simultaneously.
- Understanding of vehicle repair processes and reconditioning standards.
- Experience with inventory management systems and dealership software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
