Job Description
Immediate opening for a Registered Nurse (RN) working for a fast-paced Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine clinic. Experience in Pulmonary and Sleep medicine, surgery scheduling, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) ordering is a plus.
Qualified candidates are great communicators, experienced with medical environment, able to maintain confidential patient records and have great time management skills. Candidates must be a team player.
Day to Day responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Room patients according to appointment times:
- Take vitals, histories, and record in the electronic medical records (EMR)
- Check that all results are in the patient’s chart for appointment
- Complete orders after visit with Physician
- Respond to phone calls for test results, medication refills, sick calls, etc.
- Scheduling Procedures
- Educate patient in preparation for procedures and post-op care
- Order DME equipment and specialty medication, as directed by a Physician
- Obtain prior authorizations on testing and procedures, as needed
- Maintain incoming faxes and alert Physicians of abnormal imaging
Skills Required for Position:
- Must be a professional and great communicator, team player with a great attitude
- Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems, HIPAA & OSHA policies
- Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred
- Must be an engaging and professional communicator with excellent phone etiquette.
- Must be computer savvy
- Prefer prior experience working in a Pulmonary and Sleep medicine
- Must have strong understanding and execution of provider consistency.
- Must exude strong, constructive and positive view of company culture.
- Back office stocking and inventory
- Other duties assigned
At least 1-2 year clinic experience with EMR within a medical practice required. Respiratory and/or Sleep experience is a plus.
This role is non-exempt (hourly) and full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Compensation
- Actual compensation rate for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, and experience.
Pay: $28.00 – $33.50 per hour
