Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Manager specializing in Wholesales Apparel & Accessories, based in New York, NY. The Sales Manager will oversee the wholesale operations, build and maintain strong relationships with clients, and lead the development of sales strategies to achieve revenue goals. Responsibilities include identifying market opportunities, managing customer accounts, collaborating with internal departments to optimize product pitches, and tracking sales performance. This role will also involve mentoring and guiding sales teams to improve performance and meet organizational objectives.

Account Management and Sales Growth

  • Directly manage all global wholesale accounts (specialty & majors) with exception of Europe and co-manage Asian territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with buyers through weekly communication. Schedule regular check-ins with key accounts, analyze selling data, facilitate ST%, and brand awareness.
  • Develop and implement strategies and goals with management; Identify and propose opportunities for wholesale growth.
  • Acquire new accounts: Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new accounts that align with brand objectives and aesthetic and increase brand awareness.
  • Negotiate key business points including terms, margins.
  • Weekly WIPs: prepare and present brand updates (sales performance, client behavior, and market trends) to management each week.

Marketing Strategy and Order Management

  • Manage, plan, and coordinate 4 seasonal markets.
  • Conduct pre-market budget calls with accounts, project and budget by account, and maintain a log to ensure targets are being reached at all times.
  • Schedule and conduct all market appointments (50+ appts per market).
  • Execute assortments in appointments and follow through on adjustments.
  • Execute all post-market tasks including all order entry and maintenance.

Distributor Liaison (LIVE)

  • Regularly communicate with LIVE team in all aspects of brand management.
  • Communicate budget expectations and ensure teams are aligned.

Wholesale Marketing & PR Initiatives

  • Support on wholesale marketing opportunities, meetings, and analytics
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and execute marketing opportunities.
  • Analyze marketing analytics and provide feedback for future improvements

Wholesale Logistics: Inventory Management    

  • Marketing Strategy and Order Management   Manage full inventory life cycle: seasonal ATS orders, monitor in-season stock levels for reorder requests and outreach; analyze weekly selling to make recommendations for timely replenishment.
  • Spearhead aged-inventory initiative and excess stock strategy; put together inventory offering packages for off-price accounts.
  • Work with finance to resolve any credit holds or financial issues affecting shipping.
  • Provide input on large-scale stock management strategies to management

Qualifications

  • Experience in Sales Management, Wholesales Designer Apparel
  • Knowledge of Apparel and Accessories industry trends and market dynamics
  • Proficiency in Negotiation, Account Management, and Business Development strategies
  • Superior Communication, Leadership, and Team Management skills
  • Analytical abilities for forecasting sales trends and creating strategies to expand market reach
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales software/tools
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Prior experience in the fashion or retail industry is required
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

The expected starting pay range for this position is $80,000 – $90,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
