POSITION SUMMARY

At Hello Garage of Seattle, our mission is to transform garages and deliver remarkable customer experiences.

As a Sales Respresentative or Design Consultant (In-Home Sales), you will meet with homeowners, understand their needs, and recommend customized garage flooring, storage, and organization solutions. This is a consultative, customer-facing sales role focused on building trust, delivering value, and closing high-quality projects.

We want each team member to feel valued from day one and provide the training needed to succeed confidently in this role.

This position reports to the owner.

COMPENSATION

  • Commission based
  • Up to $60,000 per year
  • On-target earnings (OTE): $7500+ depending on the earnings on or above target

SCHEDULE

  • Part-time: 15–20 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday – Daytime hours mostly (Evening availability based on customer appointments)
  • Weekend availability (at least one day) preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This position requires a diverse skill set. As a Design consultant/Sales Representative for Hello Garage of Seattle, primary responsibilities include:

-Build and Maintain Strong Customer Relationships to drive satisfaction and future referrals.

  • Visit customers’ homes through pre-scheduled appointments to determine their desired outcomes and offer solutions to meet their needs
  • Follow through with customers until all issues are resolved, ensuring customers’ expectations have been remarkable
  • Set clear expectations with the customer and the crew to ensure a smooth experience

-Close Sales / Up Sell

  • Present solutions and guide customers to make a confident purchase decision
  • Meet or exceed monthly average dollar per appointment (ADA) goals
  • Consistently identify and promote storage & organizational solutions to maximize sales while meeting customers’ needs.

-Master Sales Core Process

  • Consistently follow Sales the Hello Garage Way
  • Attend ongoing training opportunities and company meetings

-Generate Appointments & Referrals

  • Participate in home shows and other events to generate new customer leads
  • Generate leads through distribution of yard signs, customer referrals, and self-generated appointments

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of construction or related trades
  • Sales skills, including upselling and closing deals
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and programs
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Basic math skills for measurements, estimates and pricing
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to move about and move to/from and work from the floor level
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or (GED) equivalent
  • Post-secondary education (associate degree or some college) is preferred but not required
  • 1+ years of successful experience in the sales field; or
  • A combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field
  • A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record

CLASSIFICATION

This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Washington State law. Compensation is primarily commission-based. Overtime pay will be provided in accordance with applicable laws.
