Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Scaffold Yard Manager to lead and oversee all operations within our scaffold yard. This pivotal role involves managing the storage, distribution, and maintenance of scaffolding materials, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing inventory control, and streamlining processes to enhance overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a thorough understanding of supply chain management principles. Duties
- Oversee daily yard operations, including the storage, handling, and distribution of scaffolding materials
- Manage inventory levels using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems to ensure accuracy and availability
- Coordinate procurement, purchasing, and dispatching activities to meet project timelines and budget requirements
- Supervise warehouse staff, forklift operators, and logistics personnel to ensure safe and efficient workflow
- Implement process improvements utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to optimize yard productivity
- Monitor transportation management systems (TMS) for freight planning, shipping & receiving, and fleet management
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, conduct regular safety audits, and enforce safety protocols across the yard
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision with a strong background in inventory management and logistics
- Expertise in supply chain management including demand planning, production planning, and procurement processes
- Familiarity with transportation planning systems such as TMS and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations
- Strong understanding of profit & loss management, budgeting, and process improvement methodologies like Lean and Continuous Improvement
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent supply chain analytics tools to track inventory control and warehouse operations
- Supervising experience in warehouse distribution settings with a focus on freight, shipping & receiving, and order fulfillment
- Skilled in forklift operation certification along with materials management expertise for efficient warehouse distribution
- Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams in fast-paced environments; ability to foster teamwork and safety awareness
