Position Summary:

The Seasonal Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds and landscaping of our senior living community during the summer months. This part-time, seasonal position plays a key role in creating and sustaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing outdoor environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, and mulching.

• Maintain flower beds, shrubs, walkways, patios, and outdoor seating areas.

• Remove debris, leaves, and litter from pathways, driveways, and outdoor common areas.

• Assist with planting, pruning, and seasonal landscaping projects.

• Perform light maintenance of groundskeeping tools and equipment.

• Identify and report any safety hazards or needed repairs (e.g., broken walkways, damaged fencing).

• Ensure all work is performed safely and, in a resident-friendly manner.

• Operate and maintain a pressure washer to clean building exteriors, walkways, patios, and other surfaces as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and garden tools.

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.

• Ability to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions.

• Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for the senior living environment.

• Reliable and punctual with good time management skills.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred but not required.

• Valid driver’s license preferred (depending on equipment use and site layout).

• Must pass background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.

• Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 15 feet in height.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, humidity, rain, etc.).

• Manual dexterity and physical stamina to operate hand tools and landscaping machinery.

• Must be able to perform physical tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

Pay:

$15.50 – $17.50 per hour

Schedule:

• Seasonal

• Full-Time

• Monday – Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm

• On-call as needed

• Weekends as needed
