Good Night John Boy is one of San Diego’s busiest nightlife destinations, bringing a high-energy 70s disco experience to the Gaslamp Quarter. We’re looking for professional, friendly, and confident security team members who thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to keep guests safe while creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Check IDs and verify guest age.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and crowd flow.
- Enforce venue policies professionally and respectfully.
- De-escalate conflicts before they become problems.
- Remove disruptive guests when necessary.
- Work closely with management, bartenders, and servers.
- Monitor capacity and maintain a safe environment.
- Help maintain a clean, organized venue throughout the shift.
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance throughout each shift.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of nightlife, bar, or nightclub security experience preferred.
- California Guard Card preferred (or willingness to obtain one).
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be available Friday and Saturday nights.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
