Shipping Department Associate
Coughlin’s Auctions – Clinton Township, MI
Coughlin’s Auctions is looking for a dependable, organized, and hardworking individual to join our shipping department. This position is responsible for carefully packing and shipping a wide variety of auction items to customers throughout the country.
Because we sell everything from collectibles and artwork to antiques, glassware, tools, and other unique items, every day is different. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works efficiently, and understands the importance of packing items safely and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Carefully package auction items for safe shipment
- Select appropriate boxes and packing materials
- Prepare shipping labels and verify customer information
- Match purchased items with the correct invoices
- Inspect items for accuracy and condition before shipping
- Photograph packages or items when required
- Organize incoming and outgoing shipments
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
- Assist with inventory, customer pickups, and other auction-house duties as needed
- Safely lift and move boxes and merchandise
Qualifications
- Dependable and able to arrive on time
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers and shipping software
- Able to follow packing and shipping procedures
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Able to lift approximately 50 pounds
- Previous shipping, warehouse, fulfillment, or packing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
Schedule
This position is available as FULL TIME. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
Compensation
Starting pay is $15-$20+ per hour, based on experience and daily bonus goals hit.
