Shipping Supervisor

Reports to: Operations Manager

Department: Shipping

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly); Full-time

Overview: Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for all of the shipping and receiving associated with the operation. Key duties and qualifications will be listed below.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 Responsible for the daily picking, packaging, and shipment of company’s wholesale and e-commerce orders.

 Responsible for receiving newly manufactured products into inventory, ensuring that all products are counted into the WMS before being safely case packed for shipping.

 Utilize ERP system, ShipStation, UPS Worldship, and/or FedEx Ship Manager to create shipment labels; will compare shipment costs in order to select the most economically efficient carriers for all outbound shipments.

 Create bills of lading and arrange freight pick-ups, ensuring that individual customer routing instructions are followed completely and accurately.

 Utilize pallet jacks and/or lifts to move pallets; must be physically capable of maneuvering pallets throughout the building when needed; will be responsible for the palletization of products when needed.

 Inspects inbound shipments for damage; routes received items to the appropriate internal departments; ensures that all paperwork matches items received; accurately documents all shipments.

 Responsible for monitoring workload and communicating staffing needs to Operations Manager; must train and guide new warehouse employees.

 Responsible for monitoring inventory of cartons, labels, and various shipping materials, placing replenishment orders as needed.

 Able to read, understand and implement customer specific routing guides in order to protect the Company’s interest and keep potential charge backs at bay.

 Able to represent Company in best light and work directly and independently with customer specific logistic departments, couriers (UPS etc.) truck lines, Vendors (box company), etc.

 Participate in annual inventory as it pertains to shipping and receiving materials

 Must follow procedures to ensure a safe work environment; must follow all company procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications:

 Must possess solid computer skills, preferably with some form of WMS experience.

 Understanding of and ability to comply with Federal Good Manufacturing Practices

 Strong communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including team members, facility managers and corporate management, as well as with outside vendors and suppliers as needed.

 Must be able to project a professional attitude under pressure.

 Must be able to work well in a team environment.

 Recognized ability to work independently.

 Must be able to work overtime periodically.

 High school diploma or GED preferred.

Mental and Physical Demands

 Must be able to stand and lift for long periods of time.

 Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

 Ability to handle repetitive tasks.

Schedule

 Monday – Friday (hours vary – 40 hours per week).

 Overtime periodically required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour
