We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Manager Fabrication to lead our manufacturing operations with energy and precision. Experience is a must. We would like to see a minimum of 10 years experience in a management of a fabrication shop at a minimum. Proven track record. Ability to read detailed specifications and blue prints, 2D and 3D. You must be able to be a working manager and lead a team of individuals forward. This pivotal role involves overseeing the fabrication shop, ensuring seamless production flow, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As a key leader, you will manage production planning, optimize processes, and foster a safety-first environment that empowers your team to excel. Your expertise in manufacturing systems and supply chain management will be instrumental in delivering exceptional results and supporting our company’s growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily fabrication shop activities, ensuring efficient production schedules and optimal resource utilization.
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Manage production planning using ERP systems such as SAP to align manufacturing output with demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Oversee quality control procedures to ensure products meet rigorous standards and customer specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operations data, identifying bottlenecks, and applying process improvement techniques.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize procurement, inventory management, and logistics for seamless material flow.
- Supervise shop personnel, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to foster a motivated and skilled team.
- Utilize supply chain analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safety-conscious culture across the fabrication facility.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years management experience in fabrication
- Proven verifiable track record in leading a shop to on time production and quality workmanship.
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms; familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) processes is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles, including logistics, procurement, and inventory control.
- Mechanical knowledge or background related to fabrication processes, assembly techniques, or plant operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive results.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in supply chain analytics tools to inform decision-making.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure alignment on goals.
