Overview
Social Media Marketing Intern Jobs in New York City Metropolitan Area at Ploy
Title: Social Media Marketing Intern
Company: Ploy
Location: New York City Metropolitan Area
Who We Are
At Ploy, we’re building the first growth automation software with your website at its core. We serve innovative operators at growth and marketing agencies, tech start-ups, and some traditional industries as well.
They build their website with Ploy’s agents, and then those agents automatically research the landscape and business context, identify winning strategies for account based personalization, SEO/AEO, conversion rate optimization, and ship dozens of on-brand, on-strategy web pages in seconds to drive traffic and conversions.
Our vision is to completely re-define the concept of a marketing website in today’s agentic world.
And tear-down the broken, archaic low-code tech stacks of the last generation of website builders. With agents, we can unburden a world of story-tellers from manual work, long timelines, and being blocked by internal and external resourcing, and return them to a world of, “yes, and” + “let’s just do it”.
It’s a big, scary ambitious vision, but our team is uniquely positioned to do it.
- Some of the best design engineers and growth engineers in the world.
- World-class investors.
- And one of our co-founders is Bryant Chou, the former co-founder and CTO of Webflow. (Yes, uniquely positioned)
- And last but not least, hopefully you, the one reading this 😄
About the role
From our experience at Webflow and other category-defining companies, we believe deeply in the power of social media – not just as a distribution channel, but as a way to shape culture, teach the market, and build a movement.
Ploy is hiring a Social Media Marketing Intern to help us tell that story.
You’ll help us turn what we’re building into content that people actually want to read, watch, share, and talk about. That means translating big ideas — agentic websites, AI-powered growth, SEO/AEO, personalization, conversion, and the future of marketing — into sharp, compelling content across social channels.
This role sits at the intersection of content, growth, and community. You’ll work closely with the marketing team to grow Ploy’s brand presence, engage with our audience, and help us become a consistent voice in the conversations shaping the future of GTM.
This is a high-context, high-ownership internship at an early-stage startup. You won’t just be scheduling posts or making generic graphics. You’ll be helping define how Ploy shows up online from the earliest days — the ideas we share, the people we reach, the tone we take, and the momentum we build.
You should be someone who lives online, understands what makes content spread, and gets excited about turning complex ideas into simple, punchy, memorable narratives.
What you'll own
- Social content creation — Draft and create posts across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, and other relevant channels that communicate Ploy’s product, vision, customer stories, and category POV
- Brand voice & storytelling — Help shape how Ploy shows up online: sharp, ambitious, useful, and a little bit obsessed with the future of growth
- Trend & audience research — Stay close to the conversations happening across AI, GTM, growth marketing, SEO/AEO, Webflow, startups, and agency communities
- Content calendar support — Help plan, organize, and execute a consistent publishing rhythm across social channels
- Short-form video & creative — Support the creation of lightweight video, clips, graphics, screenshots, product demos, memes, and other formats that make Ploy easier to understand and harder to ignore
- Community engagement — Engage with relevant creators, operators, founders, marketers, and agencies to help grow Ploy’s presence in the right corners of the internet
- Performance analysis — Track what’s working, identify patterns, and help optimize content based on engagement, reach, conversion, and audience feedback
- Launch amplification — Work with the team to support product launches, feature announcements, customer stories, and company milestones
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
- Strong writing instincts and the ability to make technical or complex ideas feel simple, exciting, and easy to understand
- A genuine interest in startups, AI, marketing, growth, websites, and the future of GTM
- A strong pulse on social media — you know what works on LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, and emerging channels, and you can explain why
- Comfort creating content quickly, testing ideas, and learning from what performs
- An eye for clean visuals, strong hooks, and clear storytelling
- A bias toward action — you don’t need perfect instructions to start making things
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep content organized across multiple channels
- Comfort working in-person with a fast-moving team in New York City
- Bonus: experience with short-form video, design tools, Webflow, Framer, Canva, Figma, CapCut, or other creative tools
- Bonus: you already follow the AI, growth, startup, or creator ecosystem and have strong opinions about what makes content good
This role is for someone who wants to learn by doing, move fast, and help build the voice of a company trying to redefine what a marketing website can be.
If that sounds exciting, we’d love to meet you.
