Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for pediatric patients, utilizing knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to identify communication disorders.
- Develop and implement tailored therapy plans focused on speech therapy goals, including articulation, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions.
- Provide direct patient care through engaging therapy sessions that promote early intervention strategies for children with diverse needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure consistent support across multiple environments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and assessments in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in patient assessment procedures by observing speech patterns, cognitive communication skills, and physiological factors affecting speech production.
- Stay informed about current best practices in pediatrics and speech therapy techniques to continually enhance service quality.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP or CF) or licensure as an SLPA with relevant supervised experience.
- Prior school experience or pediatric clinical exposure is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech therapy techniques tailored for children in early intervention settings.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech production and swallowing functions.
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments using appropriate medical terminology and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.
