Role Description

This is a hybrid internship role at Holiday HOOPS & ARTs. As the Sports Marketing & Talent Recruitment Intern, you will work directly with the Co-CEO & Director of Basketball Operations, Coach Faith Holiday, to support the growth, visibility, and competitive strength of our basketball program. This role sits at the intersection of sports marketing, athlete development, and recruitment strategy. You will help elevate how our athletes are seen, how our teams are built, and how our program connects with prospective players, coaches, and college recruiters. You will contribute to content creation, athlete storytelling, and recruitment efforts while collaborating with the Marketing Team, program staff, and volunteer coaches. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real experience in sports marketing, athlete branding, and grassroots program development. This role is ideal for students interested in sports marketing, sports management, or entertainment management who want direct exposure to athlete visibility, recruitment pipelines, and program growth.

Specifics

Content Creation & Athlete Storytelling – Capture game footage, practice highlights, and behind-the-scenes moments. Create short-form video content and develop player highlights, team recaps, and storytelling pieces that showcase athlete development and program impact.

Social Media & Platform Support – Assist with posting and managing content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, and others). Collaborate with the Marketing Team to ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and timing.

Recruitment & Talent Pipeline Development – Support outreach and relationship-building with prospective athletes, coaches, and college recruiters. Help track player interest, maintain recruitment touchpoints, and contribute to positioning HH&A as a destination for both development and exposure.

Program Promotion & Athlete Visibility – Support promotion of tournaments, events, and team milestones. Contribute ideas to increase awareness and strengthen the program’s presence, including enhancing athlete exposure to coaches and recruiters.

Cross-Team Collaboration – Serve as a bridge between Basketball Operations and Marketing. Help translate coaching priorities into content and ensure alignment with broader HH&A messaging and goals.

Event & Game Day Support – Provide on-site support during practices, games, and events, including content capture and real-time coordination as needed.

Qualifications

• Interest in sports marketing, communications, athletics, or sports management (basketball preferred)

• Strong familiarity with social media platforms and digital trends

• Ability to capture and edit video content (CapCut, Premiere, or similar tools)

• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on tasks

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail 

Bonus if you:

• Have experience playing or working in sports programs

• Have created or managed social media content or highlight reels

• Are studying marketing, communications, sports management, or a related field 

Committment

• 10–15 hours per week (flexible based on practices, games, and events)

• Hybrid schedule with required in-person support for games and events

• Evening and weekend availability needed

• Stipend provided based on HH&A budget and Board approval
