Today, RFGH is a 25-bed critical access facility that provides health care for more than 30,000 residents living in Somerset County, which extends from Skowhegan to the Canadian border. We provide progressive pharmacy services to this 25-bed Critical Access Hospital from our location on the Medical/Surgical floor. We are a valued part of the health care team and have achieved an open and cooperative relationship with the Medical and Nursing Staffs. The focus for all of us is quality patient care.

This position is per diem We are open 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday and 7 am to 5:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Our services include

  • Order verification and medication dispensing
  • Anti-coagulation dosing and monitoring
  • Clinical monitoring of aminoglycosides and vancomycin
  • Parenteral nutrition electrolyte management
  • Renal dose adjustment
  • Medication reconciliation
  • Oncology services
  • Clinical drug protocol development and maintenance
  • Drug information
  • Antibiotic stewardship
  • Patient education
  • Immunization screening, ordering and administration
  • Pulmonary and Cardiac rehab support

Must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision as well as cooperatively with hospital providers, nurses, and pharmacy staff. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and prioritize workload to work efficiently. Must be able to make critical decisions and respond to emergencies. Must effectively communicate and provide exceptional customer service. Must be able to meet the care needs of a diverse patient population.

State of Maine license required. Previous hospital experience is preferred.
