Staffing Coordinator Float Pool Full-time Days Jobs in New Orleans at LCMC Health

Additional Duties

  • Maintains continuous staffing oversight for critical care, emergency, and trauma-designated units, ensuring support of UMC’s Level 1 Trauma Center operations.
  • Coordinates immediate staffing adjustments in response to trauma activations, high-acuity patient surges, and mass casualty events.
  • Collaborates with Nursing Administration and House Supervisors to support patient throughput and quality outcomes.
  • Ensures staffing assignments meet competency, certification, and trauma-specific requirements.
  • Monitors overtime and agency utilization to promote efficient resource management.
  • Facilitates staff redeployment across units based on census and acuity.
  • Supports onboarding coordination and scheduling for new hires and supplemental staff.
  • Assists with staffing contingency planning aligned with emergency preparedness protocols.
  • Maintains accurate documentation for audits and regulatory readiness.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance staffing efficiency and patient safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of 24/7 hospital operations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of staffing, scheduling, healthcare operations, or administrative experience required
  • Experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in staffing coordination within a high-acuity or trauma setting
  • Familiarity with workforce management or scheduling systems (e.g., Kronos, API, Workday)
  • Knowledge of hospital staffing practices, unit workflows, and patient care environments

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in computer systems and scheduling software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism


Working Conditions

  • 24/7 operations environment requiring flexibility in scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • High-pressure environment supporting a Level 1 Trauma Center with frequent interruptions and urgent requests
