We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager, Software Engineering that will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex software solutions. This person’s expertise will be crucial in driving technical excellence, providing mentorship to the development team, and shaping the future direction of our projects. They will engage with technologies across the entire stack to develop and maintain Kastle’s managed services utilized 24/7 by staff and customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership:
    Serve as the technical authority and go-to person for software development best practices, architectural decisions, and technology selection. Demonstrate deep understanding of the domain, keep up‑to‑date with industry trends, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Software Development, Code Review, and QA:
    Utilize multiple programming languages (SQL, PHP, C#.Net, Python, JavaScript/Type Script) to design and build robust, scalable, maintainable software solutions. Conduct code reviews for quality, compliance, performance, and security.
  • API Development:
    Design and direct implementation of RESTful APIs to enable seamless communication between components.
  • Technical Problem Solving & Performance Optimization:
    Tackle complex technical challenges, provide innovative solutions, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance speed and efficiency.
  • Project Management & Assignments:
    Work closely with product managers, architects, stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical specs, and ensure seamless implementation. Oversee assignment of tasks to team members in collaboration with project managers or scrum masters.
  • Mentoring and

    Coaching:

    Act as a mentor for junior developers, fostering continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 10–15 years of hands‑on experience as a software engineer.
  • Expert level understanding of multiple programming languages including SQL, PHP, C#.Net, Python, JavaScript, and experience delivering high‑quality, scalable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of APIs (SOAP, RESTful, Graph) and API development experience.
  • Ability to translate business problems to technical solutions and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and guide the team towards effective solutions and work distribution.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced, globally distributed team and passion for tackling complex challenges.
  • Experience as a mentor or team lead, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and traditional project management practices.
