Job Summary
The Training Specialist owns the design, delivery, and compliance tracking of all employee development initiatives across company locations. Operating as a strategic individual contributor, this role partners closely with site leaders to identify skill gaps, manage safety compliance, and build robust training tracks from new hire orientation through senior leadership development. The ideal candidate is an autonomous leader who can seamlessly pivot from leading classroom training to auditing technical compliance matrices.
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Delivery:
- Design, implement, and facilitate company-wide training programs, including new hire orientation, leadership development, and operational skill progressions.
- Assess company-wide training needs and develop modern, engaging instructional materials, manuals, and visual aids.
Technical & Progression Programs:
- Manage and optimize the employee "skill level progression" tracks.
- Own the administration and evaluation of technical testing, including blueprint reading and measurement capability assessments.
Compliance & Safety Management:
- Partner with site leadership to organize safety audits, track regulatory renewal dates, and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry standards on training dates.
- Ensure all safety training curricula are up to date and consistently executed across all locations.
Data, LMS, & Documentation:
- Own the Learning Management System (LMS) and corporate training matrix; ensure all records are meticulously documented and audit-ready at a moment’s notice.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs and report metrics to HR leadership.
HR Partnership:
- Act as an extended arm of the HR team, providing cross-functional backup support for essential HR initiatives (e.g., employee engagement events, onboarding administration, or talent acquisition support).
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in corporate training, instructional design, or talent development. Experience in a multi-site manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environment is heavily preferred.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency with LMS Management, e-learning authoring tools, and technical competencies (must be comfortable learning/evaluating technical concepts like blueprint reading).
- Core Competencies: Strong public speaking and facilitation skills; excellent project management abilities; proven track record of influencing site leaders without having direct authority over them.
- Travel: Ability to travel regularly to various company locations as required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent validated experience).
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
