Job Summary: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients within a designated time frame. Care is provided using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources, adhering to the institution’s philosophy. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. The RN ensures patient and employee safety, communicates effectively to resolve issues, and contributes to the professional development of peers.
Department-specific functions include direct care for CVMS patients (post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients), hourly rounding, maintaining competencies, and proactively assisting customers.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN degree
• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications:
• BSN degree
