We are seeking a skilled and motivated Upfitter Wiring Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of 12-volt electrical systems and aftermarket equipment on commercial vehicles, fleet trucks, utility bodies, and vans. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced in vehicle electrical systems and equipment integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and wire 12V electrical systems and aftermarket accessories on commercial vehicles.
- Install emergency lighting, strobe systems, switches, inverters, backup cameras, GPS units, power supplies, and other related equipment.
- Route, secure, and protect wiring harnesses in a clean and professional manner.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer installation instructions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and wiring-related issues.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure proper system functionality and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with fabrication and installation teams to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Experience working with 12V automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to supply and maintain the tools necessary to perform assigned work.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, professional attitude are required.
