Role Description As a User Interface Intern at GenPark, you will support the design and refinement of user interfaces across web and mobile experiences. This internship role is hybrid, based in Los Angeles, CA, with flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day tasks include creating UI mockups and visual assets, collaborating with designers and product managers to translate requirements into intuitive interfaces, and assisting with interactive prototypes for user testing. You will help maintain design systems, ensure visual consistency, and work with front-end developers to hand off design specifications. The intern will also participate in feedback sessions, iterate on designs based on user and stakeholder input, and document design decisions and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong user interface and visual design skills, including experience with Mockups and Visual Design tools.
- Ability to contribute to user-centered solutions through User Experience Design (UED) principles and practices.
- Experience or coursework in Prototyping, including building interactive prototypes for testing and iteration.
- Basic understanding of Front-End Development concepts to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency with common design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, or similar) and an understanding of responsive design.
- Strong communication skills, openness to feedback, and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- A portfolio or samples demonstrating UI work, coursework, or personal projects relevant to this role.
