Title: Utility Locator Technician

The City of Williamsburg is seeking applicants to fill the Utility Locator Technician position in our Utilities Division. This position is responsible for locating and indicating the plan view location of all the City’s underground utilities. This position performs municipal service worker senior tasks in the water and sewer department when not performing locate activities. Must be able to work independently and make independent judgments.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and
- Five (5) years of experience in a related field of utility locating, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications: (required or the ability to achieve)
- Valid Virginia Class B Commercial Driver's License.
- Must possess or obtain certain training licensing requirements which may include:
- CPR/First Aid
- Confined Space
- Flagging Certification
- Trench/Shoring Certification
- PACP
- Excavation Safety for Competent person
