Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dog and cat restraint and general animal care and veterinary practices.
The Veterinary Assistant will work closely with veterinarians to provide high-quality care to cats and dogs. Receptionist and cleaning duties may also be included.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory analyses.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor and record animal vital signs and behaviors.
- Provide education to pet owners on proper care and treatment protocols.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to continue learning about advancements in veterinary practices.
- The ability to follow instructions and keep a positive attitude​
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
