Responsibilities:
– This position is intended to include Licensed technician duties as well as reception duties.
– Greet and check-in clients and their pets with a friendly and professional demeanor
– Schedule appointments and manage the veterinary clinic’s calendar
– Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from clients
– Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various tasks, such as restraining animals during examinations or procedures
– Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history and treatments
– Process payments and handle financial transactions
– Keep the reception area clean and organized
Experience:
– Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred
– Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment
– Familiarity with animal handling techniques, including dogs, cats, and potentially equine species
– Understanding of animal physiology and common medical conditions
– Ability to provide basic pet care advice to clients, such as grooming or training recommendations
– Experience working in a laboratory setting may be beneficial
– Veterinary assistant certification is a plus
