About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Project Management to lead enterprise-wide project execution within our rapidly growing blockchain and digital asset organization. This executive leadership role will oversee strategic initiatives across blockchain infrastructure, cryptocurrency trading platforms, digital asset products, smart contract development, compliance programs, and global business operations.
The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in project portfolio management, cross-functional leadership, fintech or blockchain environments, and has a proven track record of delivering complex technology projects in fast-paced, highly regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Project Leadership
Develop and execute enterprise project management strategies aligned with corporate objectives and blockchain business initiatives.
Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and establish project governance frameworks across the organization.
Drive execution of strategic initiatives related to blockchain technology, digital assets, cryptocurrency trading, Web3 products, and fintech services.
Partner with executive leadership to prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively.
Ensure project portfolios support long-term business growth and operational scalability.
Blockchain Product & Technology Program Management
Oversee the successful delivery of blockchain infrastructure, wallet systems, smart contract deployments, tokenization initiatives, and digital asset platforms.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Operations.
Manage development roadmaps for cryptocurrency exchange platforms, custody solutions, staking services, DeFi integrations, and institutional products.
Ensure projects meet performance, security, scalability, and compliance requirements.
Portfolio & Program Management
Manage a portfolio of complex blockchain and technology projects simultaneously.
Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, resource utilization, and dependencies.
Develop executive-level reporting, project dashboards, and KPI frameworks.
Lead project reviews, steering committee meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
Implement best practices for Agile, Scrum, and hybrid project management methodologies.
Regulatory & Compliance Coordination
Partner closely with Compliance, Risk Management, and Legal teams.
Support projects related to AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, cybersecurity, and regulatory reporting.
Ensure project execution aligns with applicable financial regulations and industry standards.
Coordinate initiatives supporting licensing, audits, and global regulatory requirements.
Risk Management & Operational Excellence
Identify project risks, technology challenges, and operational bottlenecks.
Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Establish governance procedures for project execution and stakeholder communication.
Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary liaison between executive leadership, technology teams, and business stakeholders.
Present project status, strategic recommendations, and performance updates to the executive team and Board of Directors.
Facilitate alignment among internal departments and external partners.
Manage relationships with technology vendors, consulting firms, and blockchain ecosystem partners.
Team Leadership & Development
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Project Managers, Program Managers, Scrum Masters, and PMO professionals.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Develop leadership capabilities and succession plans within the project management organization.
Promote Agile project management best practices across the company.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
20+ years of project and program management experience.
10+ years of leadership experience managing enterprise-level technology projects.
Experience within blockchain, cryptocurrency, fintech, digital assets, financial services, or high-growth technology environments.
Strong understanding of blockchain ecosystems, cryptocurrency products, Web3 infrastructure, and digital asset markets.
Proven success leading large-scale cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
