About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Remote Medical Assistant to join our team at ATN Health. This remote position is based in Orlando, Florida, and involves providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure smooth patient interactions and efficient clinical workflows. The ideal candidate will perform pre-visit pre-charting calls, assist with the rooming process, and collaborate closely with healthcare providers to prepare patients for their in-clinic visits. This role requires excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality healthcare remotely, ensuring patients receive timely and personalized care while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Program Certificate
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required at the time of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment
  • 1-2 years of healthcare experience as a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • 1-2 years of experience with EMR/EHR systems, preferably with EPIC
  • At least 6 months of experience in a call center environment (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of case management or care coordination experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of computer experience for data entry and reviewing patient demographic information
  • Knowledge of ambulatory healthcare or related healthcare fields
  • Strong computer literacy and familiarity with healthcare technology tools
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously
  • Attention to detail and high-quality work standards
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephonic pre-visit check-ins with patients to gather necessary medical and social information prior to their appointments
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical records system
  • Confirm the reason for each visit, review medication lists, social determinants of health, and identify gaps in care
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to facilitate an efficient rooming process for onsite visits
  • Make approximately 30-50 patient calls daily to achieve 12-16 patient interactions, ensuring timely registration and preparation
  • Support patients throughout their healthcare journey by providing clear guidance and assistance
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and safety in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries, demonstrating compassion and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless healthcare delivery and documentation accuracy
  • Utilize multiple EMR/EHR systems to input and review patient data effectively
  • Complete health and social assessments to evaluate patient risks and determine appropriate interventions
