Position Overview:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the clinical functions of staff, quality care for clients, and professional development of counselors. This position also ensures that program policies and procedures are maintained. The Clinical Supervisor will hold responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Assessing patients: Assess each patient’s psychosocial status and functioning, and document their history
  • Developing person-centered treatment plans: Collaborate with other clinical team members to create an individualized treatment plan
  • Identifying training needs: Identify staff training and development requirements
  • Providing training: Provide training and guidance to administrative and clinical staff
  • Reviewing treatment authorization requests
  • Ensuring quality care for clients
  • Maintain OASAS and internal program policies and procedures

Clinical Accountabilities:

  • Provides clinical supervision for counseling staff and other treatment team members.
  • Chairs Case Conferences and meetings of the treatment team.
  • Observes, evaluates and motivates counselors relative to assigned duties.
  • Facilitates communication among staff to ensure program goals are placed above personal considerations.
  • Identifies and develops solutions to resolve any problems that interfere with quality and timely service delivery.
  • Evaluates the quality of services provided to clients in terms of progress, safety, and continuity of care.
  • Ensures client records are maintained by standards established by directives issued from the Executive Directory, OASAS, and other monitoring agencies.
  • Ensures that treatment team personnel follow required client reporting procedures.
  • Review client case records to ensure that the services provided are consistent with treatment plans.
  • Training of treatment staff
  • Institutes, maintains, and updates a training program for treatment team staff and provides orientation for new counselors in terms of specific therapeutic methods and procedures of the program.
  • Utilizes external sources (conferences, guest lectors, and OASAS training) for complimentary training experiences.
  • Facilitates weekly House Meetings and other related community gatherings
  • Oversees compliance with all insurance/authorization communications, PNA distribution, and HRA STARS application, verification, and reporting
  • Responsible for adjudicating client issues, including processing grievances and appeals of administrative discharges
  • Oversees program operations

Position Qualifications:

  • The Clinical Supervisor should possess the following skill sets: a combination of formal education and experience, to supervise the unit staff managers. Experience in the field of administration of substance use disorder (SUD) programs.
  • Extreme sensitivity, diplomacy, and responsiveness to the variety of problems that have to be solved in a people-oriented agency such as Reality House are essential.
  • The Clinical Supervisor must be capable of working well as part of a team since many tasks or projects require the coordination of various units and disciplines within Reality House.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for external and internal communications are necessary.
  • Vast knowledge of OASAS regulations

Education/Credential Requirements

  • Advanced or Master CASAC

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
