Job Title: Building Foreman
Reports To: Construction Managers
Job Type: Full-time, On-site
Job Summary
The Building Foreman is a hands-on field leader responsible for overseeing the daily erection and assembly of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings, Post-Frame Buildings and structural steel components. This role manages the on-site crew, enforces safety protocols, interprets blueprints, and coordinates heavy machinery operation to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and up to quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Site Management
- Direct and supervise the daily activities of steel erectors.
- Delegate specific tasks to crew members based on project priorities and individual skill levels.
- Conduct daily huddles and pre-task briefings to review work schedules.
- Resolve on-site conflicts quickly to maintain a productive and positive team environment.
Technical Execution
- Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
- Oversee structural assembly, including steel framing, sheeting, insulation, and trim work.
- Layout building lines and verify exact measurements.
- Direct construction according to Construction Managers specification.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies across the entire job site.
- Inspect safety equipment, ensuring proper utilization of fall protection systems, harnesses, and PPE.
- Identify site hazards and immediately implement corrective actions to prevent incidents.
- Document daily safety logs, incident reports, and toolbox talk attendances.
Operations & Coordination
- Track material inventory, checking deliveries for accuracy and ordering additional supplies as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment including telehandlers, boom lifts, forklifts, and aerial lifts when necessary.
- Provide progress updates daily.
Job Qualifications
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in pre-engineered metal building or post frame erection.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role on a construction site.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings and Post Frame Buildings.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and structural shop drawings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work comfortably at elevated heights on roofs, lifts, or steel beams.
- Capacity to lift up to 50–75 lbs regularly and stand for long hours.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
- Flexibility to travel to various job sites as required by project locations.
Pay: $26.00 – $34.00 per hour
