DINING ROOM SUPERVISOR/ TEAM LEADER at a country club is a food and beverage professional responsible for supervising the service team and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for club members and guests. In addition to training and managing waitstaff, they may handle more complex service issues, such as VIP requests and member complaints.
Key responsibilities
- Service supervision: Manage and oversee the dining room and waitstaff, ensuring that all tables are properly set and that service standards are consistently followed.
- Staff management: Brief the service team on daily menu specials and upcoming club events, and provide ongoing training and coaching to junior staff members.
- Member relations: Greet members and guests, answer questions about the menu, upcoming events etc., and quickly resolve any issues or complaints to maintain high member satisfaction.
- Expertise in food and beverage: Demonstrate full knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, and possess a clear understanding of wine pairings and proper wine service.
- Operational Support: Assist with opening and closing duties, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, and ensure all service areas are prepared.
- Administrative Duties: Handle member charge billing, assist with inventory management, and attend pre-meal meetings.
- Special events: Responsible for banquet and event closing, closing duties and locking up the club after events.
Qualifications and requirements
- Experience: Previous fine dining and/or banquet experience is required, along with a minimum of five years in management position in a similar environment.
- Knowledge: Must have strong knowledge of the club’s menus, wine service, and all service standards and techniques.
- Flexibility: Availability to work mostly evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Pay/Compensation
- Based on experience: $28-$30 per hour
