Responsibilities
- Set up and organize market stall displays to attract customers and highlight product freshness
- Engage with shoppers through friendly communication, product demonstrations, and upselling techniques to enhance sales
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling and credit transactions
- Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring products are well-merchandised and replenished regularly
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about products, offering samples, and guiding selections
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stall area throughout the market day
- Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels and communicating needs for restocking or special orders
- Be able to lift 50lbs
- Have an SUV or large car to transport tent, table, kegs, cases of cans, coolers and ice buckets.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or grocery store environments, with strong cashiering skills
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in a retail or market setting
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Skilled in merchandising, stocking, and product demos to engage customers actively
- Knowledge of phone etiquette for professional communication with vendors and customers alike
- Enthusiastic team player with strong customer service orientation and positive attitude
- Extra points for knowledge on kombucha, Non alcoholic beverage, Yerba mate, herbalism, sobriety and metaphysics.
