Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-focused Firearms Department Associate to support firearm sales, compliance, and customer service. This role requires strict adherence to all federal, state, and local firearms regulations while providing a professional customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with firearms, ammunition, and accessories
- Ensure full compliance with ATF, federal, state, and local laws
- Accurately complete required firearms paperwork and records
- Maintain safe firearm handling and secure storage at all times
- Educate customers on firearm safety, legal requirements, and basic maintenance
- Maintain inventory, displays, and department organization
- Follow all safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures
Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to sell and handle firearms
- Strong knowledge of firearms and firearm safety( preferred but not required)
- High attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain professional and safety-focused
Preferred
- Firearms retail, range, or industry experience
- ATF compliance and record-keeping experience
- Firearms safety or instructor certifications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to [50] lbs
