Job Overview
We are sincerely recruiting a professional and caring art teacher to provide art education services for special needs students aged 6–26. The target students include those with Down syndrome, autism, physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities and other special needs. The teacher will conduct one-on-one in-home teaching or small group lessons according to students’ individual conditions, using art painting as a medium to guide students to feel the beauty of art, express their inner emotions, and help them improve their hands-on ability, cognitive ability and emotional communication ability.Job Responsibilities
- Develop personalized art teaching plans and courses suitable for special needs students based on each student’s physical and psychological characteristics, learning ability and individual differences.
- Conduct in-home art teaching activities patiently and carefully, guide students to complete painting creation, and stimulate students’ interest and potential in art.
- Give full care, tolerance and respect to every special needs student, protect students’ physical and mental health, and establish a warm and trusting teacher-student relationship.
- Observe students’ learning performance and emotional changes in class, timely adjust teaching methods and strategies, and ensure the teaching effect.
- Fulfill teaching duties earnestly, maintain a high sense of responsibility for teaching work, and ensure the safety and order of the teaching process.
- Cooperate with parents to feed back students’ learning status in a timely manner, and jointly promote the healthy growth of students.
Job Requirements
- Major in Fine Arts, graduated from a professional art college or university, with solid professional painting skills and systematic art education knowledge.
- Possess sincere love, extreme patience, strong sense of responsibility and empathy for special needs students, and be willing to devote themselves to special needs art education.
- Able to fully understand and tolerate the differences of special needs students, respect each student’s individuality and growth rhythm, and get along well with students.
- Preference will be given to those with relevant art teaching experience for special needs students, or experience in special education, early childhood education for disabled students.
- Have good communication skills, gentle and kind personality, strong psychological quality, and be able to cope with various situations in teaching calmly.
- Abide by work norms, have good professional ethics, and be able to complete teaching work stably as required.
Working Hours & Compensation
- Working hours: 5–10 hours per week, flexible arrangement according to actual needs.
- Hourly wage: $35 per hour
- Working mode: In-home service, one-on-one teaching or small group class teaching
- Student age range: 6–26 years old
